Halsey House

Halsey House in Norfolk is one of The Royal British Legion’s Care Homes, with a specialist Dementia wing. Like every one of the Legion's Care Homes, we are exclusive to the Armed Forces community and their dependants.

Halsey House is situated in the popular seaside resort of Cromer on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. The elegant old building is a great welcome for residents and guests alike. Cromer is famous for its Victorian pier, which is one of the only piers in the country to still host its own theatre show every summer and winter season. Halsey House also arranges minibus and coach trips to local attractions, including local theatre productions, Lowestoft Air Show, and the shops of Cromer and Norwich.

Coming to live at Halsey House is a new chapter in your life, a new address full of possibilities. You’ll share a common bond with other residents, who each have their own story to tell. Halsey House hope it will feel like a home from home, where you decide how you want to spend your day. They have 87 beds, and provide nursing, residential and personal care, as well as specialist dementia care. They also provide day care, five days per week, within the dedicated day care unit. Their highly trained and skilled staff team put their residents at the core of everything they do. They aim to make a positive difference to your life, in a friendly, caring and warm environment.

Quality of life is important to Halsey House and they offer a variety of social events and outings in their two minibuses. They encourage their residents to go shopping, pursue hobbies and attend clubs. They also make sure there’s plenty to do for residents, including indoor bowls, bingo, tea dances and crafts. On Sunday afternoons a visiting chaplain holds a religious service in the main lounge.

They also have a visiting hairdresser and barber. In the dining room, they offer a varied menu to suit all tastes as well as special diets. In addition, there is a licensed bar where residents can socialise with family and friends. A variety of lounges are available, offering a comfortable and homely atmosphere.
