health and safety

Council for Learning outside the Classroom Quality BadgeAt Remembrance Travel for Cadets, the safety and security of you and your cadets is our absolute priority.

We operate a detailed Safety Management System, with all suppliers chosen for the quality of their services, compliance with our safety management standards and experience in working with school and youth groups. Furthermore, 24-hour office support is also provided throughout the duration of your time away with us.

Remembrance Travel has been awarded The Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) Quality Badge. This Badge provides, for the first time, a national accreditation combining the essential elements of provision - learning and safety - into one easily recognisable and trusted Quality Badge for all types of Learning Outside the Classroom providers.

School Travel Forum assuredRemembrance Travel is an Assured Member of the School Travel Forum a group of leading school tour operators who promote good practice and safety in school travel.

All Assured Members of the STF adhere to a rigorous Code of Practice and Safety Management Standards and are externally verified each year by Argent Health & Safety, the UK’s leading Health and Safety Consultancy, specialising in Travel.

FInancial Security

ABTA and ATOL logosRemembrance Travel is part of the youth travel division of The Newmarket Group. All bookings and monies paid are protected by the Group's ABTA bond and ATOL licence. This means that your money is protected, whether you travel by coach or by air.

Passports and visas

For organisers wishing to arrange an overseas tour for their cadets, ensuring that every member of the group has accurate and valid documentation both to enter the destination country and then to return to the UK is essential.

Should you have any specific concerns, we strongly recommend that you consult with the UK Passport Office and/or the appropriate destination embassy.

Travel insurance

Travel insurance is not only recommended, but is absolutely essential. We make it a condition of booking that all passengers travelling overseas are adequately covered. However as many people have their own annual cover we do not include a compulsory insurance charge.

European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)

If travelling to Europe, we would also strongly recommend that everyone takes with them an EHIC. This card will allow you to receive free or reduced-cost emergency health care while abroad in an EU country. It will also reduce the risk of you having to pay for treatment 'on the spot' and then make a claim on your return to the UK. Application forms are available from your local Post Office or online at
